PTSO Announcements
The Cave Spring High School Parent-Teacher-Student Organization (PTSO) is an independent organization that operates under its own bylaws and retains funds at the local school level. Our mission is:
- To promote an enriched educational environment
- To support a variety of important activities that include academic excellence, health and safety, substance abuse prevention, after-prom activities, volunteers in the school and community outreach.
Specifically, we use the proceeds from the annual membership dues ($7) to provide meals and snacks for the teachers and staff during the school year. We offer a world-class after-prom event to encourage fun and safe activities for students after the dance. We offer recognition for student volunteer service and provide scholarship opportunities for seniors. Finally, we provide helping hands to any Cave Spring families that may need our support.
The PTSO relies heavily on our parents and student volunteers. If you are interested in helping, please reach out to a PTSO board member or plan to attend one of our monthly meetings in the school library. Please also plan to join the PTSO so you have a vote on the leadership and the activities we support. Seniors must be a PTSO member to be eligible for the PTSO scholarship.
The PTSO Greenback* fund is the main fundraiser for PTSO. These additional funds are used to further our mission. The PTSO takes up several collections during the year for Greenback donations. We recognize our donors accordingly:
Greenback Knight: Donate $100 or more
Greenback Squire: Donate $50 up to $99
Greenback Page: Donate $26 up to $49
Friend of the Court: Donate $25
*Greenbacks are an old term for money
