Dual Enrollment

If this is the first time enrolling in a Dual Enrollment course, your student must apply online to Virginia Western Community College (VWCC). Please see instructions below.
If your student previously completed a Dual Enrollment course through BCAT, CSHS, or the Governor’s School, they do not need to reapply to VWCC.
All Dual Enrollment courses taken at Governor’s School or BCAT must be paid directly to the appropriate school.

Important Update: Tuition-Free Courses:
Recent legislation now allows all approved Dual Enrollment courses at CSHS that fulfill the Uniform Certificate of General Studies to be offered at no cost to families.
To ensure eligibility for this tuition-free opportunity, all students must complete the Dual Enrollment Governor’s Scholar Program Intent Form (attached).
Course Exceptions and Fees:
Please note that not all courses are currently covered by the tuition-free program:
• US/VA Government:
o US/VA Government for seniors, is a two-semester course. One semester of Government is covered; the remaining semester will cost $132.51. (Payment due by September 2, 2025 by check to our bookkeeper, Mrs. Weston or by our online payment portal School Cash Online)
• Dual Biology:
o Dual Enrollment Biology is partially funded through a grant.
o No payment is required at this time for Dual Biology but the remaining cost is contingent on future funding through VWCC. If the funding is not secured, the cost will be $176.68. Payment will be requested by CSHS at a later date if needed.

Step 1: Apply to VWCC: APPLICATION DEADLINE is August 22, 2025. Incomplete applications will result in student being dropped from the Dual Enrollment course for the upcoming school year.

2. Create a username and password for the application process. You will need to enter your social security number (not the parent’s SSN)

Step 2: Turn in Required Forms:
